We hire rarely, and we hire people who can carry a candidate’s search on their own.
There is no volume desk here and no dialling target. Each case lead carries a small number of senior searches and is answerable for every claim that goes out under their name. That is a hard job, and it is why the team is small.
Reading carefully, writing honestly, and telling people things they would rather not hear.
You write for a living
Almost everything we deliver is written — an audit, a closure report, a weekly account of who was approached and what they said. If you cannot write plainly, you cannot do this job, whatever else you are good at.
You verify before you claim
Nothing goes into a candidate’s record without a source document behind it. The discipline of refusing to write an unevidenced line is most of the craft.
You say no
We turn away work we cannot honestly serve. That means telling a paying person that we are the wrong firm for them. If that conversation frightens you, this is the wrong place.
What we are not.
So that nobody applies on a misunderstanding.
We are not a product company
Software helps our team read faster and search wider. It does not make the judgements, and we do not sell it. If you want to build a platform, you will be bored here.
We are not a recruitment agency desk
We are paid by the candidate, not by the hiring company. There is no placement fee, no commission on a company’s budget, and no incentive to push someone into a role that does not fit.
We are small, and openings are irregular
We do not keep a permanent list of vacancies open to collect applications. When a seat exists, it is filled by someone who wrote to us and was remembered. Writing to us when nothing is posted is the normal route in, not a nuisance.
